I understand with Office 2007 you are licensed to install on one desktop and
one mobile device. Are you allowed to install on say a notebook used at home
(where the notebook is essentially used as a desktop) and a netbook used at
school etc?

on a side note where do i find my activation key within my existing
installation of office? i dont have it anymore.

cheers!

Not correct. The EULA says "one PRMARY device and one portable."
It does not specify whether the PRIMARY device is a desktop or a laptop.

Depends on the version of Office you have. If you have a retail version of
Office other than Home and Student, you can install as Gordon stated, one
primary and one portable "for exclusive use of the primary user of the
primary device." Home and Student can be installed on 3 concurrent
computers within the same household, but not to be used for commercial
purposes. OEM and MLK versions can only be installed on one computer and
the license dies with the computer, in other words, can not legally be
transferred to another computer.

Now, without the license key you need to read the disk label for the type of
installation.
