Office Link in Startup Folder

S

scelli

I am using Office 2000 and have the following path in my "Startup" folder
under the icon "Microsoft Office":

"D:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\OSA9.EXE" -b -l

As I have a number of TSR apps that load during bootup, I would like to
remove all but the essential ones (anti-virus, etc.) in order to improve my
startup time. What is the purpose for this link loading up during startup and
is it really essential to my using apps in Office? If it isn't something that
I particularly need, I want to delete it. But I also don't want to affect the
proper functioning of my Office 2000 program.

BTW: I do not use the Office toolbar that I have seen others use with the
program which resides on the desktop allowing quick access to various Office
features.

Thanks!

Hi Scelli,

You can remove the Office Startup Assistant shortcut
from your startup folder. Here's some additional
information on it
