office Liscense question????

G

GraXi

hello I have a new client with 5 computers on her office, all XP Pro that she
purchased separe in 3 different occasions from 3 different vendors.

a. 2 pc's have Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 SP2 (came with the
pc)
b. 1 pc came with Microsoft Office Basic Edition 2003 SP1
c. 1 pc has no Office, just MS Works
d. 1 pc has a 30 day Trial of Microsoft Student and Teacher 2003

My question is. Using the copies of MS Office Professional Edition 2003 can
I unstall it to all the computers so they all will be uniform using the same
keys? Or will this put me out of the liscense agreement? How can I do to be
able to do this without having her purchasing a cd for each other pc?

thanks a lot

The MS Office Professional 2003 copies your client has are OEM licenses,
as they came with the computer. As such, they can only be used on the
computers they came on.
I don't see any other way for you than to go and buy licenses. You
should investigate Office 2003 licensing though, as there might be a way
to upgrade the Basic Edition to Pro (I honestly don't know).

Office 2003 Volume licenses can be had in packs as little a 5 licenses, which sounds perfect for you. You can also investigate the Action Pack if the client foresees using more Microsoft software at a future date. The cost is about $600 per year and you get 10 licenses of all software in the action pack.
