Office Live Won't Permit Editing in MSOffice 2004 for Mac

Version: 2004 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel Office Live works fine until I want to edit a document--even if I the one who posted it. The answer I come up with after finding many blind canyons amongst the Maptopia forums and blogs is essentially, "Buy Office 2008 for Mac and your problems will be solved." 1. Is this correct? 2. When does the rumor mill say that Office 2010 will be out?
