I think you'll find you can't. The software is for Mac, not for
Windows.

NB Does anyone make "virtual Mac for PC"?

Before I bought it I read the box which states "can be installed on three
personal computers or other devices" and so I thought it could be installed

on either. Nowhere does it mention that OS X is required.

Well...

The "mac" in

"Microsoft Office:mac 2004"

was probably thought to be self-evident, and I think you'll find that
the OS X version (10.2.8 or later) is listed on the outside of the box.

Also, if you re-read the package under "System Requirements:" you will find
that it specifically states Mac OS X and makes absolutely no mention of any
version of Windows. I also know for a fact that Offices X packages of
Office:Mac the very front of the package states "Designed Exclusively for
Mac OS X".
