Office Mac 2008 Installation

The issue is: on a first time installation on to an Apple Macbook Pro, Office
Mac 2008 Home and Student Edition the installation gets to the following
stage and proceeds no further.
The message on the screen is: "Running Office Fonts Installer Script" and
Install time remaining: about a minute."

As per the instructions all other programs were shut down before starting
the installation. We have been patient and waited 60 minutes after the
installation got to the last minute. While this is happening the Apple Mac
book Pro is still continue to operate it's clock. We have tried re-doing the
installation three times.

Thank you for any help
