Has anyone else had this problem with Office:mac? Trying it on a new
macbook pro (intel). This is the only CD that won't run. There are no
surface marks or defects. Any ideas?

Hi Claude -

Just because *you* can't see the flaws of a CD/DVD doesn't meant the 'eye'
of an optical drive can't, so I wouldn't rule out a defective disk just yet.
The defect doesn't have to be physical - it can happen during the recording
process if the disk isn't written to correctly.

Can you test the disc on another Mac?
Are there any error messages? If so, what do they say?
What version of Office are you trying to install?

I'm with Bob:

It's likely to be a damaged CD. Check carefully along the innermost tracks.
CDs read from the inside out. If there's any cuts or smudges along the
inner tracks, it won't load.

It's a good idea to check also on the printed side of the disk. A CD
carries its data just under the paint on the label side, not on the shiny
side.

The only other thing I can think of that might cause this is if Rosetta is
not running on your machine. MS Office 2004 requires Rosetta.

Cheers
