office mac - network problems and printer....

hi folks
Just recently bought into the whole mac thing, have been a confirmed
PC user up till now, and can't figure 'the mac' out!!
Bought 4 macs for work, (mac osx version 10.4.8 2 SGx intel core 2
duo) each came with Mac office test, which has since expired, have
purchased office mac 2004, installed it on all computers, (which are
networked) but it seems that I can now only open the application on
one computer at the time!! which defeats the purpose of having a
network and the pack comes with 3 product numbers, so any ideas??
Also, am having problems with getting our macs to connect to printer,
its a wireless network we are using and a xerox 24 workcentre... have
installed printer driver on all macs, but no use, again... any ideas
please would be appreciated.
Thanks

First, did you follow the MS guidance to uninstall Test Drive (using the
Remove Office application, found on the install CD) before installing
your S/T version? If not (and the guidance is rather obscure), remove
both Test Drive and the S/T version using Remove Office, then reinstall
S/T (using a different key for each machine) and update it with
AutoUpdate, or download and install the 11.3.5, 11.3.6 and 11.3.7
updaters.

Second, with three keys, you can install Office on three computers, not
4. Each computer needs to use a separate key. To change the key, see

No idea on the printer - that's probably not an office issue - but you
might have more success on the Apple discussion fora:

S/T versions cannot be used legally in an office setting. Could this be the
problem?

Unless the function of the office meets the educational requirements of
the license. Certainly it violates the license to use it in a commercial
business.

However, that's not the problem - Office has no way of determining what
type of business is being transacted on a machine.

I will try that, also, just to say, we are community arts centre,
teaching accredited courses, so it is for educational purposes!
Thanks for the advice.
