i have recently bought a pc with vista and preloaded office pro07 on it. ive
tried reinstalling the program but the message from bcn office addin "office
application versions do not match" comes up every time i load an office
application other than access (ie. word, publisher, excel, powerpoint).

no info on anything other than finding what version office it is or
authenticating it.

i dont know what this means, no helps have any information on this.
wondering if theres any guru's out there that can beat this prob, would be
the most appriciative!!

I suspect "bcn" is Business Contact Manager?? If that's the case then it
sounds like you also have the Business Contact Manager installed that was
designed for a previous version of Office. Uninstall it and the message
would go away.

bobbles,

I too have developed this problem. I was running fine with Vista and deleted
all unneccessary add-ins and my slowness problem vanished...then I saw an
update posted to update 2007 Office to clear this issue. I updated and then
the "Office Application Does Not Match" box began to appear.

Did you remove BCM and did this clean up the issue?

I have also just started to see this issue. It seems to follow a
Windows update for Outlook, which would not install correctly:

Update for Outlook 2007 (KB933493)

This update fixes a problem in which a calendar item that is marked as
private is opened if it is found by using the Search Desktop feature.
The update also fixes performance issues that occur when you work with
items in a large .pst file or .ost file.

The problem is in Word, excel, powerpoint and Publisher. I don't
actually use Outlook, but thought I'd do thtr update just in case I
decide to use it in future - silly me!
