office not compatible with xp media?

I purchased a new pc with windows xp media edition. Since
it did not come with office, i bought microsoft ffice for
teachers and students. The two seem to be incapatible.
Has any one heard of this type of problem? "Best Buy" is
going to charge me to fix it but neither the pc or
software is more than 4 weeks old.

MS Office XP is compatible with Windows XP.
You didn't provide enough information on
specific issues to be able to provide you
much in the way of any possible things to
look into, however, the Windows Edition you have,
Windows XP Media Center Edition , only for
Media Center PCs is a bit new and there may
be some quirks that are unique to it:
