Office notification -for re-scheduled reminders

Hi,

I use the Entourage calendar to keep reminders for bill and other payments.
Since these are not always on the same day each one, two or three month
periods, I move them to the appropriate day and month. However there is some
inconsistency in the Office Notification when I move these. It seem
sometimes for some they work, but at other times some don't produce a
reminder at all on the due date.
My queries are:
Is this an expected behaviour, and
Can they be made to provide a reminder without the need to remake them
altogether?
I don't seem to have trouble with reminders that are added as a series (eg a
payment due on the first of every month).

Any suggestions would be helpful.
