Office Notifications blank

In the last two days my Office Notifications window comes up with no
text in it. The scoll bar down the right side is also missing, even
though I know there are multiple Notifications. Also, the Clock icon
in the dock has no number in it. I can click on Open Item in the
Notification window and the task opens and is readable. Any
suggestions how to correct this? I'm using Office 2004 on a Powerbook
Titanium G4 running Tiger.
