Office now requiring install

I went to open a word doc and the Windows Installer
started looking for the install disk. I haven't done
anything to the computer. I get a dialog that says the
installation source does not exist. I don't have the
original disks anymore.

Can anyone help me figure out what happened>/

Does it do the same when you open Word and create a new
doc? Office will try to autmatically install a feature
from the disk if the document you are trying to open
needs something in particular. For example, if you open a
mail merge document and office doesn't have mail merge
installed it will try and download it from the orginal
office disk.

If it does this opening all documents, try deleting the
file normal.dot. It may have been coruupted and it will
be recreated when you open office back up.
