Just some interesting reading and hypothesizing here, I am not saying I
agree with this idea.

It's a load of cobblers.

First, MS has publicly stated that the next version of Office:mac will be a
universal binary.

Next, the WPF/E is a set of graphical tools that can be used in apps for
drawing complex graphical shapes - it's a bit like the quartz algorithms
built into OS X. They are developer's tools that need to be implemented in
native code -not some super-secret scheme to do away with OS X.
