Office online is too big in my browser to get updates

My internet explorer browser needs to be updated as well as my office
program. I can only get to here with my netscape browser, the office page is
too big to download anything with the IEB the writing is all overlaid on the
button to press for the download. The site looks so big it is almost
impossibe to navigate. If I use netscape so that I can read what is printed
and get to the download, it tells me to come back with IE 6.0. I don't have
it, I'm trying to get to the updates to get it. This is a between a rock and
a hard place situation. What can I do to get updates?

Start> All Programs> Windows Update. After all of the
Critical updates are applied, then click on Office Updates
at the top of the page.
