Hi Tia,

Go to Start menu, All Programs, Microsoft Office and
right click on the Outlook icon select Send To and
Desktop as Shortcut. Hope this helps. This works with
most all items in the Start Menu

I have found a way to resolve the issue. Open regedit. Go to>
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\Namespace
and add a key with the value of:
{00020D75-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}

This will create the icon reference on the desktop. Once you have
added the key. Close regedit, click on the desktop, and press F5
(refresh) and your icon should appear.

I hope this helps.
