Office Outlook attachment size

Sorry to all the computer buffs...
I have my digital camera set at maximum size (so I can print clearly
and occasionally get large -size prints). Unfortunately, if I wish to
email a photo to a friend, it takes so long to upload and more
importantly - it must take ages for the recipient to download. Is
there an easy way for me to make the file smaller (without reducing
clarity)?
Thanks!

Also, if you are using the camera supplied software there is usually an
option to resize a pic for emailing

A caution.

Resizing for email is easy, even Picture Manager can do it. You have been
given two of many options. The error that most people make is to save the
resized image to the same folder using the same file name. Doing so
overwrites your original high resolution image with no way to recover the
higher resolution image. If you must save the low resolution image do so to
a different folder or use a different file name if saving to the same
folder.

Thanks, DL.
You're quite right.
But I usually save everything on my computer at the highest level.....
