We have a VB6 product that uses CreateObject("Excel.Application") to
instantiate an Excel instance. This has worked without any problems for
years. Recently a customer installed the following Office service packs
(MS08-41 through MS08-44 and MS08-51). Now, only an administrator can run the
program. Their "normal" users get a Error 429: ActiveX component can't create
object. It would appear that one of the patches has expanded the scope of
their security settings but we have no idea which one would clash with the
CreateObject api. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
