Office PID

Have Office 2007 installed on my C:\Vista drive and decided to give Win 7 a
try and created a dual boot drive. Wanted to try Office 2007 with Win 7 and
installed it, without noticing which drive it installed on. I did not want
the install to count as one of my "holy" three installs, so I did not
activate it and uninstalled it.

Booting-up to my VISTA drive, I noticed I could not access Office 2007, but
all the rements are still there. Tried to repair the installation of Office,
but it states it cannot find certain files to complete the install. At a
quandry on what to do next without using up another install charge by
Microsoft and reinstalling it.

Any ideas?

There is no such thing as only 3 installs
Office 2007 'generally' allows for 2 working installations, H&S allows for 3
You can install as often as you like provided you dont exceed the number of
'working' installations.

And what mystery files are missing?

When performing a repair I get the following message:
Setup cannot find Office.en-us|shellUI.MST

PS
Maybe first try running Disk Cleanup to remove all temp files, reboot and
try the repair again using the office cd

Got this from Microsoft concerning the issue:
Yes, installing Office 2007 with Windows 7 RC will be counted as
installation under three times install rule.

Dennis, you may use Office 2007 on Windows 7 RC until June 1, 2010. Before
Windows 7 RC usage period ends, you may uninstall Office 2007 and reinstall
on your other operating system. Uninstalling and reinstalling Office 2007
will not lose the license of installing three times. Please make sure that
Office 2007 is completely uninstalled from Windows 7 RC. You can use the same
product key to install it on other operating system.

The Windows 7 RC will stop working on June 1, 2010. After that date, your PC
will stop working and it may be difficult to recover your files. If you are
running the RC version of Windows 7, please be prepared to reinstall a prior
version of Windows or the final version of Windows 7 before June 1, 2010.

Please note that after installing Office 2007 on your new operating system,
you require to reactivate it on your particular computer by calling our
Microsoft Product Activation team.
