Office Printing Issues

K

Krog

I recently got a new Dell XPS 420 running Vista. I re-purposed my old
computer to be a print server, and am running my old printer (an HP DeskJet
722C) as the primary network printer.

When I try to print from Word or Excel (the only 2 programs I've tried), the
documents do not print. I can print to my LOCAL printer, and I can
sucessfully print a test page on the network printer, but for whatever reason
Word and Excel documents will not print on the network printer.

Any ideas? Thank you in advance.

Did you check to see if there are Vista drivers for that printer?

If the OP means the HP DeskJet 722C connected directly to the Vista PC
by 'LOCAL printer', then it'd seem the OP's printer driver wouldn't be
the issue.

How did you print the test page in the network printer? What's your
local printer?

Can you print from other applications, e.g., Notepad, from the Vista
PC to the network printer?
