Office Pro 2003 CD won't load in Vista After Revert to Factory req

After working with Microsoft for 2 days to resolve a print spooler issue, I
was advised to reinstall Vista.

Now, I can't reload my Office Pro 2003. It keeps getting ejected. There is
nothing wrong with my CD player. My pc is less than a year old. On one
attempt, it did mention there was a missing .cab file. Which really was
there. So, in the meantime I downloaded Office Pro 2007 to at least be able
to work!

I already have Office Home and Student 2007 which also won't install and a
purchased download of Outlook 2007 with Businss Contact Manager. Which I
can't re-activate because of this mess.

I can't find a solution anywhere in the Knowlege base.

if I recall,

you can copy the contents
of the cd into a folder on
the disk,

then run the setup from
that folder.

You need to make up your mind as to which version of Office you wish to
install, the retail version and not any trial.
Did you actually reinstall Vista? or recover your PC to factory supplied
condition?

Only reason I downloaded the Trials is that I have critical docs that I must
work on. Al I want is to reinstall my valid Office Pro 2003 for the Access
and the Office Home 2007 for Excel and WOrd. Then my Office Outlook 2007.
None of which can be installed at the moment. They are all retail. Outlook
was purchased Online as a download the rest in a retail store.

My pc is a Sony Vaio which has a recovery/revert built in. As a very last
result I did that. I can't begin to express how annoyed I am with all the
things that don't work now. Windows Updates won't install. But the issue that
initiated this mess is resolved. The printer spooler works! :) I can Add a
Printer now.

You would need to address the MS Update issue before you move on.- Ensure
update is NOT set to install driver updates, critical updates only.

Once you have finished with your critical docs, you would need to uninstall
the Trial and Any Activation assistant, clear your temp files & reboot.
Before you can then set about installing the 2003 components you require.
2003 will install to a version specific Folder by default, presumably you
only need to have Access set to run from PC & no other 2003 components
Update the 2003 before installing any later version
PS H&S 2007 is for none commercial use

Thank you! I changed my update settings back to Windows Update from Microsoft
and only to notify not automatically download. The only update I will not
install is SP2 for Vista. I appears that is when my problems started. So far,
I can still use my printers. My software is only for private use.

SP2 failure is probably due to drivers.
Ensure you obtain any updated drivers from Vaio site only
