We have receieved a complimentary copy of 2003 Office Pro -
is the license downgradable?

Can we use the license to install 2k Pro?

To be "legal" you need to call Microsoft and have them downgrade the
license. I've done this when we needed another version of Office XP and
could only purchase Office 2003. They will give you a registration number
for XP and you can still upgrade it back to Office 2003 by calling them
again in the future if you need to. At least that's what they told me when
I called.

I'm pretty sure the downgrade option only permits you to go back one
version, hence OfficeXP.

I'm probably biased, but newly installing O2K at all sounds like a really
bad idea.

Unless there are compelling reasons to do so, use 2003. Terrific
product. Since it was free, your risk is zilch!

Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.

Thanks, but we want to stay with 2k right now since the
rest of the office is compatible. I dont want to run into
any users issues by installing 2003.

Especially the "how come I can't get 2003
installed"......smack.
