Office problem

I had error messages. A friend of mine said he solved the problem by
deleting the Micosoft office. Now all of my desktop documnets are changed to
pads and I can opend attachments on my email. How do I resolve this problem

Along with Garfield-n-Odie's advice, don't let your friend "fix" your
computer again. If you encounter error messages come see us first. <grin>
