i have offfice 97 small business edition and have changed
my computer configuration by updating components, i now
run xp. what i am being asked for is the product id key
which i no longer can find what should i do?

You don't make it clear what Product Key you need, but KeyFinder from
www.magicaljellybean.com will display both Keys, Office and Windows, if the
machine and S/W are still up and running. Then this time write them down twice
and store separately so you have them for the next time.
