can I install office professional 97 seperately from
office professional 2000 - having both. 97 is needed to
be compatible with version at work. Do anything special
or just loan both?

You can, but you must choose whether to run Outlook 97 or 2000 - you
*cannot* have two versions of Outlook installed as they *will* conflict.
