Office Professional 2003 and automatic updates

I have office pro 2003 (it has publisher in it). When the auto updates
attempt to install, it asks for the disk that contains MS office with
frontpage. I don't have this and can't seem to get the updates to install
without it. Any suggestions?

Are you saying it's asking for a different CD than the one you have?

It's possible that you still have a previous version of Office installed
(such as XP with FrontPage?). Use that CD when prompted.

Office Update uses the Windows Installer data (same as Add/Remove Programs)
to see what Ofifce programs are installed on your system that might need
updating. It takes care of them all at once.

Check Add/Remove Programs to see if another version of Office is still
installed. If
you don't want it any longer, you can uninstall it from there. If you want
to keep it, then update it, and supply its installation CD when prompted.

I did go to the Add/Remove programs and removed "front Page." However, when
I do a detailed search through windows explorer, I find a program with Front
Page. When I attempt to delete, it tells me another program is using the bin
and will not delete it. Consequently, when I attempt to run the windows
update, it still asks for the CD that no longer exists.

Can you reboot the system, or use the Windows Task Manager to try to shut
down whatever program is holding the file open? Are you runnng a personal
web server, perhaps? Could you stop that service?

I'm surprised that uninstall worked if part of the program is still loading.

There is a folder at C:\Program Files\microsoft frontpage\version3.0 that
is part of the OS and can't be uninstalled or deleted. It is not part of the
FrontPage application.

I installed full vers of Ofc 2003 Pro. I keep getting a reminder to download
update for Ofc XP Serv Pack. Then it says it cannot locate OWC10b msi on the
disk. The only things related to Ofc XP on change delete programs is XP
Media Content and XP Web services. Any ideas?
