I am buying a computer from a bank. They are getting new
computers and selling the old computers. It is a HP with
windows 98 and it has Microsoft Office Professional. The
software is installed on the computer. They do not have
the copy of the Office Professional. How do I get a copy
of the software so if i restart the computer I will still
be able to use the software? the cost of the tower,
17"monitor, keyboard and mouse is $100. Is this a bargain

send answer to my email address. I doubt if i can ever get
back to this site. (e-mail address removed)..thanks

$100 sounds like a pretty good deal as long as you don't put any more money
into the system and you do not try to run a business on it.

A system running Windows 98 and MS Pro is most likely four years or more
old. It probably doesn't have more than a year or two left before it starts
having hardware problems.

Its operating speed is probably no more than 450 Hhz which will run most
programs. If you are going to be playing some of the new reality games or
some of the today's graphic packages you may need another computer. DO NOT
waste your money trying to upgrade your $100 bargain. Banks normally don't
buy state-of-art stuff so the system memory may also be lacking. Again, do
not waste your money trying to upgrade it either. Hope this helps.
