Office programs slow after XP SP2 update

After installing XP SP2, my office (2003) programs, particularly Access &
Word, have become very very slow. Word takes a noticable time to open and
Access takes longer, particularly when editing.
I have run adaware & spybot with nothing unusual in results. Anyone else
suffering?
