Office programs slow to list folder contents

Hi,

If I open any of the office 2002 programs and then click
file and then open so that the "look in" window opens, if
I click on the drop down menu to change the drive or
click on a folder the system pauses for about 20-30
seconds before it performs the operation. Once the
contents have been displayed, selecting and opening a
file performs normally.

I am running Windows XP Pro SP1 on a T23 Thinkpad. Has
anybody seen this before?

Sorry to waste anybodys time but I have found the answer
on this forum. I had some network drives which were not
connected once that was sorted it all worked properly.
