Office proofing problem

Michael B.

Hi,

I have Office 2003 English version.
Every time I start Excel and type the first character I receive the text
similar to the following one:

"Microsoft Excel can't proofread Korean text. The feature is not installed.
Would you like to install it now?"

Thne, the problem is the installer is looking for ptk.msi file which is not
present on my computer. What can I do about that? I don't aim to install or
use Korean language. Is it possible to swich it off?

Thanks in advance,

Michael

I've seen this behavior in Word but never in Excel. The
solution in Word is to turn off "Detect language
automatically": Tools > Language > Set language [] Detect
language automatically.

Excel doesn't have an automatic language detection feature
so far as I can tell but your description sure sounds like
it's picking up on something and interpreting it as
"Korean".
