Office registration problem

Hi
I have been using a genuine version of MS Office XP Pro for some while on my
computer. I have just changed computers and loaded the software onto the new
machine.

When it comes to register the software again, I get a message come up that I
am trying to use the software on more than one machine and it refuses to
allow me to register.

I can't believe that there is not a way to change from one computer to
another without this problem. I am still only using it on one computer as
the old one is now not used.

Can anyone help solve the situation.

If its a retail Edition use phone activation
If its an OEM edition its tied to the first PC it was installed on

Hi again

I should say that I still have the Office software installed on my old
computer until I am satisfied that all is well with the new installation.

Surely that is allowed isn't it?

If its a retail edition then the operator on phone response should provide
you with activation code provided you state you have removed it from old PC
You dont have a trial edition installed do you?

Do the phone activation again and wait for a real person to talk to.

Hi Chesjak,

As DL mentions the End User License Agreement (EULA) /
Microsoft Software License Terms (MSLT) do apply, but when you installed you should still have the '50 combined uses' (starts) of
Office XP software to use before activating, which can go by pretty quickly when trying to test things out :)

Note that Office XP's Outlook 2002 version may not be fully compatible if your new computer is using Microsoft Windows Vista.
