is there a tool that can scan a network and tell you how
many people are running microsoft office 2000

Hi Jason,

If you're looking to inventory the MS software
on the network you may want to look at
http://microsoft.com/sam

MS doesn't have a concurrent user model for
licensing, if that was the usage you were looking
to find.
