Office Security patches

Thanu - Emdeon.

When I do office security updates it requires original installation media. As
an enterprise customer, is it any way to skip this process? Because some of
our servers are inside the firewall and it is very difficult to map these
server to the corporate segment shares.

Thanks for all your support.

Hi Thanu,

There are several methods and approaches to use for updating Office in a corporate deployment. In general, the approach is to
manage the update process internally rather than enable the online Officeupdate mechanism.

You'll find more on each version of Office on updating and maintenance approaches in the Office Resource Kits at
http://microsoft.com/office/ork/
If something is broken the the 'tools' (source media) may be required to repair it. This can be a case especially if more than one
separate Microsoft Office product is listed in Add/Remove Programs in the Windows control panel (i.e. each was installed separately,
possibly at different times and at different patching levels).
