Office Shortcut Bar Disappears

Greetings all,

Office 2000 Pro running on an XP Pro box.

The shortcut bar does a disappearing act whenever I have all my apps and
windows minimized. That is, when the desktop is displayed, the Shortcut bar
does NOT display. As soon as I restore a minimized window, the Shortcut bar
reaappears, like magic!

Is this "normal" behavior? (I hope not.) If not, what's the fix?

Note: I'm running on a brand new box with a fresh install of XP Pro and
Office 2000. However, the shortcut bar exibited this behavior on my old
Windows 2000 box, too.

Thanks for your help.

Have you tried Detect and Repair from the Help Menu of any Office program?

I put a shortcut to the bar on the desktop so when it disappears, I can just
click the shortcut to get it back. Works great in XP but wasn't so sucessful
in 98.

After some more digging around, the problem seems to be tied to the OSA.exe
agent. If it's not running, then the Shortcut bar does the disappearing act.

I have reluctantly added OSA.exe back into my startup commands.

Thanks for your help Milly.

I lied.

OSA is not the culprit. The problem continues, even with OSA running. It's a
bug, Mr. Gates.
