Office Shortcut Bar

I really REALLY found the Office Shortcut bar helpful. I have the disk for
2000... but do not have 2000 installed on this computer. I'm working in
2003 and plan in the future to add 2007 (I do some teaching of basic apps
and need them both...)

1) Can I install the Office Shortcut Bar from 2000 ... and have it work
well with 2003 & 2007?
2) if not... is there something else out there (software-wise) that does
something similar.

I use it for quick access to both applications and documents that I open
frequently... and really miss it.

Thanks for your help.

2003 & 2007 have both, Open Office Document & New Office Document shortcuts
Do they not help?

The Operating system Quick Launch bar and "custom toolbars" in the
Taskbar are the replacements.

I like having many different things accessible on the toolbar... including
quicken, specialized quilting software, specific folders, access to network
drives (in-home wireless network -- all music and photos housed on separate
machine), calculator, character map... and others.

I have found FREEBAR -- which seems to be doing what I need it to do. I
don't understand why Microsoft does away with things that work well -- even
if they aren't mega - popular.

The Quick Launch bar and 'Custom Toolbars' DO NOT even come close to the
functionality of the old Office Shortcut Bar. I, also, have been using
FreeBar as a replacement. I have over 80 icons in FreeBar. Try doing that
in Quicklaunch of custom toolbars.

FreeBar, unfortunately, it has many shortcomings, one of which is it was
written in VB6 and crashes often.

Give us back the Shortcut Bar, even if we have to pay for it.

I'm using FreeBar now, and it works pretty well for me. Once in awhile it
disappears, but Office Shortcut Bar did, too.
