Office Shortcut Bar

I have a new computer which is still being set up to suit me. This came
with the Office 2003 programs pre- installed , e.g. Word 2003. My previous
computer had Office 97 installed and this came with the shortcut bar which I
liked a lot. I am wondering if it would be safe to install Office 97 (I
have the original disk) and then delete the main applications but retain the
Shortcut bar. Any advice gratefully received. Thanks,
Alan C

Thank you very much. I will take the easy way out and install the
shortcut bar from Office 97. If I get problems with some security program I
will then do exactly what you described so well. Thanks again.
Sorry about the double posting. I was told that the first one could not
be delivered so I sent another one.
I had tried to ask the question through the Microsoft help pages but
changed my mind when I found it would cost me $49 to do so. This is a most
helpful set of newsgroups.
