Office Shortcut bar

hver since upgrading from Office 97 to Office Standard 2003, we have not been
able to use our Office Shortcut bar very well.

Case in point. One of our workstations office program crashed (why, I don't
know) but since then the shortcut bar appears, but links to local files and
applications (windows, not DOS) don't work, but URL links do. Also, the
shortcuts in the Shortcut bar folder referred to in the Shortcut bar will
work, even though the Shortcut bar doesn't.

Why, and how can this be fixed?

Hi, Carl,

So, you have retained the Office 97 Shortcut bar for use with Office 2003?
Because Office 2003 doesn't have a shortcut bar available.

Have you tried re-installing the Shortcut Bar from Office 97?

It was attempted to just re-install the Shortcut Bar from '97 but some of the
links work but not all the original ones (office shortcuts).

What files are associated with the Shortcut Bar and where are they located.

Ah, I think I get it. So, the ones that don't work are: Word, Excel,
Outlook, Powerpoint, New Office Document, and what else?

They don't work automatically because the shortcuts point to the old version
of those applications that you upgraded are no longer in the same location.
In other words, Word 2003 is in a different location than Word 97.

This should help you get the right shortcuts in:

Office Shortcut Bar is not included in Office 2003:

The shortcuts should be in the folder where you installed Office 97 for
Windows, in the Shortcut Bar folder.

Hope that helps--
