Office Slow When Browsing For Files

All of a sudden all office products (Pro 2003) take an exceedingly long time to browse for files.

For instance, if I want to open a file in Word:

I click File > Open > Look In... It hangs. After 3-5 minutes it drills down to the next level. When I attempt to drill down further the same thing happens. It can take me around a half an hour to get to a file to open it. This happens every time I access the file system with an MS Office Product. Once open (or inserted in the case of an image) everything works fine.

I can access the file system normally using windows explorer or other non-Office programs. This happened suddenly so I would expect viral activity though I have not been able to detect any.

I removed/Reinstalled office to no avail. Of course it didn't completely remove as my settings are still intact.

Any ideas?

Thanks In Advance

Right-click on the My Computer icon on the Windows desktop,
left-click on Disconnect Network Drive, and disconnect any
mapped network drives that are not currently available.

Fabulous!

I wasn't even thinking that way.

Works fine now...

I was going nuts.

Thanks!

Thank you!!!!!
