Steve--
KB 873040 mentions that you need to run
\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003\SDK\v1.1\Bin\gacutil.exe
/cdl

Is this true for everyone, or only those who installed Visual Studio project
support?

What if you don't have Visual Studio? (Looks like gacutil is a Visual Studio
component.)

Hi Matthew,

You need to run gatutil.exe to clear the Download Cache if you've ever run
a managed code based InfoPath solution on your computer. In addition to the
path currently shown in the article, you can also find this tool in
Drive:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.0.3705 (substitute your windows
directory if it is different), which is installed as part of the .Net
Framework. We are updating the KB article with this information.

I hope this helps everyone get SP1 up and running.

I believe gacutil.exe can only be found at that path if you install
the .NET Framework 1.0 SDK and was not installed by the .NET Framework
1.0. It is included in both the .NET Framework 1.1 and its SDK.

Actually gacutil is installed with the 1.0 SP? framework, or the 1.0 SDK, or
the 1.1 SDK, or Visual Studio. It is not installed with the 1.1 framework or
the original 1.0 framework.

Since this command just clears the cache, it's too bad this couldn't be done
by the uninstaller itself... a note for future releases, perhaps.
