My language bar has a small message area on it. Usually, this area contains messages like "Too soft" or "Too fast" to guide the speaker. What does it mean when it says, "Dictation Paused" ? I can't find documentation on this
The speech recognition function seems to work (in Word 2002), but occasionally it stops working. Usually, this is after I flip the microphone button on the language bar OFF then ON again. With the mouse cursor in the same open document, and the language bar indicating both Microphone ON and Dictation ON, the message window might say "Listening" or "Dictating." When this happens, the function usually works. Sometimes, the display is "Dictation paused" and the function doesn't work. At all times, the Microphone button works on the language bar by either mouse click or by the shortcut combination of the <Windows key>+V
I've searced & read various articles etc., on the MS web site, but could not find any documentation of moderate depth, let alone of this problem. I would appreciate any documentation citation or debugging suggestions
Thanks, Dave
