Office Standard Edition 2003 60-Day Trial won't install

Downloaded the trial version (antivirus and firewall were turned off), but
when I run "office.exe", it appears to extract ok but then Windows Installer
pops up indicating "This patch package could not be opened. Verify that the
patch package exists...etc". I've downloaded this twice but with the same
results. HELP?
