Office Starter on Windows 8.1

Starter is installed and functional on a W7-32 machine. With that, I created two thumb drives for Office to go, .. and they both work fine on that W7-32 and another W7-64 machine. They will not work on either of two W8.1-64 machines.

I get to the window to click on either Excel or Word. When I click on either one, I get error "This program has compatibility issues' and the option to "Get help online' which yields nothing.

Can anyone offer a solution? Thank you in advance.
