Office STILL won't launch on G5

A month has passed since my original posting to this forum,
and I've been searching other forums and Web sites for
additional advice. I've read many helpful suggestions, but
nothing has worked to get the Office apps to launch on my
G5. I'm now running Panther OS 10.3.1.

To recap, none of the Office apps will launch on my new
dual 2ghz G5. I uninstalled (not just trashed) the "test
drive" version of Office that came with the computer.

I've tried installing the Office apps by both copying the
folder off the CD and using the installer.

I've run all the updaters up to 10.1.5.

I've repaired permissions endlessly.

I've followed all of the suggestions about the font
problems mentioned in Microsoft Knowledge Base Article
#313535 ("Office v.X Program Unexpectedly Quits After the
Splash Screen Appears"). There were no font duplications or
corruptions based on the exercises outlined in the article.
I could move all of the fonts in the specified locations
and still not be able to launch any of the Office apps.

The following appears in the "submit report" screen after
Word crashes, for example:

Hi Diana,

i have had the same probelm, with more than one mac. Office X would
not work on my dual 2GHZ G5, the installer works correct, but when i
launch any micro$oft application, i get an error.

So here is what i did, i hope it would help you.

First I started my Mac with the Pather CD, an checked the file rights
with the Disk Utility Programm.

.... then i tried to start office....

on the first mac it worked. on the second, i have tried the following:

i added on the mac a new user, set admin rights to the User, and
logged on to the system.
Office is starting right.

This would tell me that the prefernces are corrupted in your account.
You should try moving the Microsoft folder in the preferences folder in
your account in another location and then try launching an Office app
again,
