I can understand Microsoft not wanting to provide
upgrades for this low-priced edition (although it seems
like a good opportunity to get new users locked into
Office), but it seems bad PR for the edition not to
accept security patches, which seems to be the case.
What sort of impression will it make on a new user if
someone hacks into his machine through a flaw that MS
knows about and refuses to allow a fix to be applied?
