Why would you need it if you're running OS X 10.5.x Leopard? Office 2001
requires a Classic environment which isn't supported by Leopard. The version
has not been supported for more than 5 years so I doubt you'll find the
updates on the MS site. You might try Google or get in touch with a
Mac/Office user's group ‹ they may have it archived somewhere.

Thanks for the input Bob. Well I originally installed Office Suite 2001 when I first bought the computer, I believe in 2003. At the time I had Mac OS X 10.3 or so. The applications worked fine for a couple of years. Then all of the sudden when I tried to launch any of the applications (except Outlook) the applciations would close back up and gave me an error message. Interestingly enough, if I opened a word or a Excel, or a PowerPoint document that I had previously saved the application would open and worked just fine. That's why for a couple of years I didn't bother to try to investigate the problem. Recently I upgraded to OS X 10.5.8 Leopard and I still have the same issues when I tried to open the Suite applications directly. I'm not sure whether the SR 1 would fix this problem but I kind of curious. Thanks,

Joel

Versions of OS X from 10.0.x to 10.4.x supported the Classic Environment
which enabled the continued use of of apps written for OS 9 & prior. Classic
support was discontinued effective with OS X 10.5.x so those legacy apps
will not run regardless of update level. The files created by Office 2001,
however, can still be used with the more current versions of Office... It's
just that the older versions of the programs will not run on 10.5 or later.

Generally, "No" it is not going to work. Office 2001 requires Classic to
run. The Classic environment cannot run on an Intel processor.

You may have some luck here:

But for the amount of fiddling around you would do, you will find it a lot
cheaper to hop out and pick up a cheap copy of Office 2004.

Cheers
