Office Suite 2007 trial

I am seriously upset with Microsoft right now! At the suggestion of a friend
I beta tested the 2007 Office Suite & then did the trial. I am not happy with
the features & have decided to return to using my 2003 Office Suite. However,
Microsoft deleted my 2003 files from my computer when I downloaded either the
Beta test or the trial. Because I was robbed recently, I don't have my Office
2003 CD to reload it. Any other company would not take what you already have
when offering a trial of their product! Now I have to spend hundreds of
dollar that I DON'T HAVE to but the new software that I don't even like!!!
GGRRRR!!!

I am sorry that you were robbed (it happened to me several years ago and
it's quite frightening/traumatic/etc). I can understand your frustration but
you were given the option of upgrading your 2003 software or installing it
beside it. You apparently upgraded and now 2003 is no longer on your system.

There is one small glimmer of hope though. Did Office come with your
computer or did you buy it separately?

I purchased it my Office Suite seperately.

Any chance you still have a receipt or *something*? Even if it's just the
product key? You can order a replacement of the software from Microsoft for
about $30 (that's what the price used to be, not sure now).

No promises but it's definitely worth the phone call. Any chance you have
some sort of home owners insurance otherwise? You could maybe include the
cost of replacing your software.

I tested Office 2007 for several months and Office 2003 was still in my
computer until very recently. Yesterday, when Office 2007 beta died and I
had to uninstall it then I found out that Office 2003 had suddenly
disappeared from my laptop.

....

Meaning you have no Office 11 subdirectory under the Microsoft Office
subdirectory under C:\Program Files? Meaning Office 2003 no longer
appears in the Add/Remove Programs Control Panel applet? If so, you
have ample grounds to be really pissed off at MSFT.

If not, use the Add/Remove Programs applet to *CHANGE* your Office
2003 install, and choose the Repair option.

Yes, everything is gone. No more Office 2003 in the add and remove
programs. Indeed I am a bit upset (slight understatement).
