I am running Windows XP (SP2) and have Microsoft Office 2000 Small Business
Edition installed. Yesterday, I began receiving the following error: OFFICE
- This application must be installed to run. Please run Setup from the
location where you originally installed the application.
This message pops up when I try to open Word, Excel or Outlook. It also
pops up immediately upon restarting the computer.
I tried uninstalling Office and reinstalling but I still get the same message.
I tried renaming the Normal.dot file and that didn't work.
I've checked all the articles on Microsoft.com KB, I believe there are 3,
and none of them apply. They are all for earlier versions of Windows.
I've read the previous posts on here regarding this same problem and none of
them seemed resolved.
I even went to the Microsoft Office MVP Faq's site that was referenced in
one of the previous posts but most of the suggestions didn't apply - or
didn't seem to.
I do have Norton Antivirus installed but it has been on here a long time and
hasn't caused problems before.
Any other suggestions on what is causing this?
Thank you so much!
