Office toolbar Icons

My office toolbar (XP) icons periodically turn black. In earlier versions
the toolbar could be refreshed on a right click but I don't have this or the
tweak ui function in the control panel. Does anyone know how to fix this
annoyance?

Can you right-click on an empty area of the Office Shortcut Bar, then
left-click on Refresh Icons?
