Office tries to connect to internet when I logon to Windows

I have just installed Office 2003 Pro (MSLA MVL) on a new Widnows XP build.
My proxy server requres a username and password to authenticate. Now
everytime I logon to the PC the proxy auth box appears. (This happens before
running any office apps) When I uninstall office this stops. Does anyone know
what aspect of Office is trying to connect to the net?

Dont know, but perhaps its the WGA tool, not sure if this has been extended
to Office.
What connection does the Firewall report, or are you only using winxp
default firewall?

After looking into the problem further i realised it was the WGA tool. My
company looks after 30 schools which all have a Cachepilot device onsite that
works as a proxy. At the moment the ISP are not providing a LDAP solution to
allow authentication on this device. We have recently updated most of these
PC's with the latest Windows Updates, and the WGA was among these.
Unfortuantly there doesn't seem to be a straight forward way to remove this
tool!!! I now have over 5000 kids receiving a proxy auth box everytime they
log on.
