Office update error Office 2k3

I have Office 2K3 with installation CD and am waiting for my fulfillment CD
for the release version from MS. I have attempted to install the critical
update from the website but it says I don't have file SKU117.CAB. I have
search the CD it does not exist.

Is there another way to install the critical update?

John

Hi John,

I'm not sure I'm following you whenyou say you have the
Installation CD but are waiting for the Office 2003 CD.
The SKUxxx.cab files generally 'fix' themselves when the
Office 2003 is inserted in the installed from drive location.

I have the trail version of Office 2k3 CD from the MS launch event. They
also gave me a voucher for a non-trail version of Office 2k3. While waiting
for the non-trail version I have installed the trail version. Today I
received an e-mail from MS saying there was a patch for Office 2k3. I went
to the office update website. I ran the update. The update said I need to
install one patch. I clicked install, the installation prompted me for the
installation CD. I inserted the installation CD in the drive and the
installer said it could not find the CAB file listed so it could not perform
the update. I search the CD for the file requested and could not find it
either. I can only assume it's because I am using the trail version instead
of the purchased version. The MS office tools would not install correctly
that they gave me at the MS office launch event also because it's the trail
version. Sort of silly to give you two disks that don't work with each
other but you know MS.

Is that any clearer?

Regard,
John
